Case V2: Immersive VR & MR Application and Creation

Complexity
  • Advanced
Target Level
  • P4 – P6

Objective:
To understand immersive Virtual Reality (VR) and Mixed Reality (MR) technology and associated applications in Education and other fields such as community services, vocational training and AEC fields. Students will first experience the technology, learn how it functions and understand the relations between virtual world and reality. Then they will learn how to create such VR & MR applications through immersive VR & MR creators so that they can be equipped with problem solving, analytical thing, VR & MR programming logic and techniques.

Description:
The school will organise a series of discovery and moderate workshops to students, starting from basic understanding of immersive VR and MR technology, demonstrating wide-ranging VR and MR applications in multi-dimensional 3D environment, to developing own VR simulations and game creations. Apart from VR creation software and school-based trainings, the workshops and activities also provide students various opportunities to know the future development of innovation technology and collaborate with industry leaders to design solutions for Education and Community Service fields by VR and MR technology without coding nor programming background. Through VR creation/ maker workshops and student contests/ inter-school competitions, students’ creations and inspired works could be displayed and introduced to delegated guests and public, for example at Open Day or School Anniversary.
