Artificial Intelligence in Anti-epidemic work

Objective:
To enrich students' understanding of possible use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in anti-epidemic work. Through courses or workshops, encourage students to create innovative solutions for addressing healthcare issues or fighting the epidemic.

Description:
Students will learn the principle and daily application of AI through interactive lectures. After learning AI knowledge and how to use the related tools, they will build their own prototypes and showcase related to healthcare or anti-epidemic work.

Hardware
  • Vision & voice capturing peripherals, such as single-board computer, motion detection sensors and camera, etc.
  • PC / laptop / tablet computer with Internet connection
Software
  • Common programming languages like Javascript / C# / Python / Java / C++
Cloud Services
  • Cloud-based AI service platforms, such as face recognition, voice recognition, etc.
Major Activities
  1. Theoretical session covering:
    1. Identify features of common AI solutions and usage scenarios of using AI in fighting the epidemic, e.g. smart geo-fencing, AI-enabled cleaning robots, etc.
    2. Describe fundamental principles of machine learning
    3. Describe features of computer vision
  2. Practical session covering:
    1. Group projects on brainstorming solutions to fight the epidemic and building prototypes and related showcase.
  3. Share the challenges and lessons learnt
